What’s Keeping You from Your Destiny?
INSPIRING HOPE MAGAZINE
By Deborah Nazemi
We are all born with a God-given destiny but reaching it can be thwarted or delayed because, after all, life happens. Tragedies, disappointments, loss, setbacks, your own will, and so many things can cloud the way. Maybe you're discouraged or distracted. However, if you allow God to reveal His life-lessons in each situation you face, He will shape you, transform you, change your perspective, and ready you for your mission.
I love this simple, profound quote from author/minister Joyce Meyer who teaches people how to heal from mindsets, painful circumstances, and wrong thinking. "Have God make a message out of your mess."
When I was in my mid-thirties a devastating event crushed me to the point of nearly becoming catatonic, but God took a hold of me during my devastation and led me to a change in my entire life-perspective. He gave me a glimpse of my destiny and infused me with a new passion and purpose for Him that lead to my healing. Once I was able to see more clearly, He revealed to me what my life–mission is–to help others do the same.
God has the keys to set you on a course that will have great impact on you–and on others. Embrace the journey and use these keys to find your way.
Allow God to change your mindsets and behavior so they align with His ways.
Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2 (NLT)
Take God's chosen path for you.
Without a vision from God, you won't know your eternal purpose. Let Him lead you in His way. Embrace His path. If you stay on the easy path, you lose in the end. If you stay on God's narrow path, each challenge you overcome will strengthen you.
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Matthew 7:13-14 (NLT)
Be willing to pay the price
Every accomplishment and achievement in life requires training, commitment, hard work, pain, and perseverance.
But don't begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it? Luke 14:28-29 (NLT)
Overcome
Don't let life's broken moments cause you to shrink back from your purpose. Let them make you stronger and more determined. Push through. Let God work in you His way and you will be an overcomer.
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world." John 16:33 New Living Translation (NLT)
Fulfilling your destiny carries great fulfillment. I challenge you to assess where you are, Give God the opportunity to give you a new perspective. Allow Him to reveal His ways and plans for you. Then measure the cost, become an overcomer, and go for it!
